Vacation Bible School

Held during the first two weeks of Summer!

Join us for VBS as we learn about Jesus, the Savior of the world, who gives us the living water of salvation! This year we learned about how God used water to save His people in the Old Testament as they waited for Jesus, and now as He gives us faith in Holy Baptism to believe in Christ. Crafts, music, games, snacks, and Bible stories were all be part of our 3 fun days.  We look forward to having you join us next year!

Community Thanksgiving Dinner

During the week of Thanksgiving, Shepherd of the City Lutheran Church offers a free Thanksgiving dinner open to the community, featuring all the traditional fare. Last year we hosted our fellowship dinner on Sunday, Nov. 19 from 4 - 6 PM. A huge "thank you" to all of our members and brothers and sisters from area Lutheran churches who prepared food, served during the dinner, welcomed our guests, and helped distribute invitations! If you would like to volunteer this year, or if you have any questions, please contact Deaconess Jaseph at  260-422-3790 or via email at

Hymn Fest

Each year we host our Hymn Fest, and have a great time hearing God's Word, and enjoying beautiful music, while welcoming new and old friends to Shepherd. This special worship service features local musical talent. Last year we hosted Concordia Lutheran High School Acapella Choir, Organist Nicole Busarow, and instrumentalists from our congregation and community. The theme "For the Least of These" was drawn from Matthew 25 where we are reminded that as we have been loved by Christ, we are to love and serve one another. After the service, all enjoyed fellowship and refreshments. We hope to see you and your family for next year's Hymn Fest!
